The series on figures of Portuguese art pays tribute to Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, a pioneer of modern art. The commemorative coin, designed by Teresa Milheiro, evokes the artist's creative multiplicity, featuring his partial face, signature and the phrase «I have more phases than the moon». On the reverse, moving female silhouettes reflect the dynamism and modernity of his work, marked by the experimentation of forms, colours and languages.
